Do you guys think that they (as in the universities) would at least cover tuition? A girl from my school last year got her full tuition paid off for Madison and she has the same stats as I do, but she is also hispanic; idk if that makes a difference.

You’re instate for Wisconsin so you might get aid to cover tuition for a Wisconsin public.
Does the state of Wisconsin give grants to low income students? If so, then this girl may have gotten Pell and a Wisconsin grant to pay for her tuition.

We also don’t know if she got any special scholarships for her major.

I don’t know if UW-M has any special scholarships for Hispanic students. If so, she may have gotten one.
However, you have some OOS publics on your list.

I don’t think it would be worth it to take the ACT again, because you’ve already taken it three times.

I definitely think you should look at Beloit. In addition to the Wisconsin state grant you appear to be eligible for, you appear to be eligible for Beloit’s need-based and merit-based scholarships. You’ll need to apply by January 15.

Another Wisconsin college that you may want to consider is Carthage College in Kenosha. It offers several full-tuition scholarships, along with need-based aid. If combined with the Wisconsin grant that I mentioned, it could be a good option, but you’ll need to get going on this because some deadlines have already passed; you might be able to get them to excuse the deadline because of your low-income and first-generation status.

I thought the UW-M this OP was referring to was Milwaukee…which is also where she lives. The costs of attending there are less than in Madison, I believe.

Rice meets full need without loans for those who make under $80,000 per year and Texas A & M meets full need for those whose families make under $60,000)(not sure if that includes loans or not at Texas A & M). Surely there are more schools like this. I’m not sure how to find out about them.Your ACT score is a little low for Rice, but not impossibly so if you have a hook that appeals to them. Rice does like to be well rounded ethnically, but there are quite a few Vietnamese in Houston so that may not help you much.

If someone knows of a way to search this out you may want to apply to more schools before the end of the year, when many deadlines fall. Maybe you can get the admission fee waived for financial reasons.
