I'm a senior about to begin applying to colleges.

GPA: 3.84 weighted (They said they'll gladly take the weighted GPA if provided on the transcript. This will benefit me because they'll consider this as a normal GPA on a 4.0 scale, and therefore I exceed their GPA requirement.)

Class Rank: Top 33.3333333% (1/3rd) of class about 500 people. They said top 30% on their website, so I'm really close. And if they think of the top 30% as the top third, then I've made the top 1/3. I'm assuming I'm fine in this aspect.

SAT - Super-scored Math & Critical Reading (Out of 1600): 1070/1600 (They want a 1201 for IU admittance and a 1270 for getting into the Kelley School of Business. I can appeal the low SAT for Kelley if I get into IU because I exceed their GPA requirement.)

I feel I'll get in, but the low SAT (even below the 1110, which I believe is the bottom of the middle 50% of scores) is making me unsure. I exceed the GPA requirement and have great ECs, so I feel I have a relatively good chance.

Ouch that class rank is going to hurt you for the business school. I’m sure you will get in however that business major is going to take a higher sat score.

For getting into Kelley for direct admissions (so I can begin my degree path the first semester I begin), they look at GPA and the SAT. Therefore, Kelley won’t likely look at the class rank. Just thought I’d point that out.

Try the SAT again you might surprise yourself anyways for your major you need to stand out a little more which a higher sat would do

I can’t take it until November because I cannot take the October SAT (personal reasons), so they’ll see my “just okay” super-score initially…I’m planning on applying within a few weeks because its on a first-come-first serve basis. What will their initial impression of me likely be?

You will be fine just relax and you will get in from what I know Indiana u is not super selective

Will they make their mind up immediately, or will I have time to submit updated scores come the end of the semester? I’m just hesitant in Kelley. They said 4-8 weeks from applying that a decision will be made. I’m asking about general admissions AND Kelley admissions. Thanks.

Never applied there but remember to relax and usually things will go your way
