I'll get straight to the point. I'm currently a sophomore and I'll be a junior in August.

I took 4 honors classes my freshman year and got 3 A's, 4 B's, and 1 C. I was horrified, but to be honest, I got those grades because I didn't work hard enough. My sophomore year hasn't officially ended, but so far my grades seem to be, 4 A's, 3 B's, and again 1 C. I've also taken 4 honor classes this year. I'm disappointed in myself because this year was supposed to be my comeback year. Sadly, it hasn't turned out that way.

I don't know if this makes a difference at all, but I had straight A's in middle school.

I'm planning on taking 3 APs my junior year and the rest will be honors. I'm hoping I get all A's my junior year. I know I can do it. I just have to focus and push myself. My senior year, I'll still be taking at least 3 AP classes.

I'm in German club, German National Honors Society and NJROTC. I was in this years school musical (a total of 3 months was dedicated to the production of this musical). I've volunteered and done community service as a part of my NJROTC unit. I've also gotten accepted into Chamber Ensemble for my junior year (the most elite singing ensemble in our school).

I'm planning to major in Journalism when I go to college and was just wondering if you think I'd have a shot at UNC-Chapel Hill. I'm an Asian female and this has been my dream school for years. I just hope I haven't screwed up my chances.

I'd be so thankful for tips on what I can do to reverse my 2 bad years in high school so that Chapel Hill can see my potential. How much community service and volunteering should I do? What's something I can do to really shine in the eyes of the admissions office? I know that I have to be unique and show them why I should be accepted, but there are always little things I could be missing.

PS. I live in-state.
