I am involved in about 6 extracurricular activities, 1 honor society, and I hold 4 officer positions.
I have about 200 community service hours.
Please help? I have been dreaming about attending this institution for years now. I applied to Boston College and Northeastern University as well and would like some feedback on those as well. :-S
Yikes your standarized testing scores aren’t exactly the best so it’s hard to say if you’ll get accepted. a 3.98 Weighted GPA…what’s your unweighted GPA? Because judging by the amount of AP classes you have taken I am assuming it is around a 3.5 or 3.4?
If your extracurriculars and essays stand out, they might “balance” out your application a bit and get you on the waitlist or even accepted
What are your AP Scores?
Yeah, I have to agree with @gymasticsfan321 in that your test scores are well below the 25th percentile. If I were you, I’d have hope, but expect the worst. What are your safeties?
Ouch 4,3,2,1…That really isn’t very spectacular and your scores and grades alone will definitely not get you into BU and Northeastern. Again, a 3.94 isn’t bad, and if you had great test scores then everything might be a bit more balanced out. But that’s not the case here.
Have you won any awards? holding officer positions is a great sign of leadership, but it’s hard to say if they’ll significantly boost your app when we don’t know what they are and what clubs they are
Sorry to break it to you! That’s not to say you’re a bad student, but I suggest you not worry about this too much and hope for the best :3
Your SAT is certainly the weaker part of your stats. I would have applied to UMass Lowell and maybe Amherst as well. You have a good chance at UMass Lowell since you have a good GPA… but your SAT is still well below UMass Amherst’s average. (which is 1820 Total and1220 M+R) Lastly, I know that your GPA and the amount of AP’s you took are quite solid but I would have put more energy into your SATs. PS- I wouldn’t apply to UMass Boston like Tom said above, your stats are much better than their average.
UMass Lowell - Match (Your stats give you a solid shot and your EC’s almost make it a safety)
Umass Amherst - High Match/Low Reach (GPA is slightly above average which is 3.8, but you are 250-300 points below their SAT average)
I’ve been in contact with my admissions officer for Boston University and Northeastern. Does anyone think that my extreme interest and reaching out to them help me somewhat?
Hopefully, you wrote about that? How many times did you take the SAT. I think your CR score is fine especially for a non-native speaker. Your writing score does not matter I would have had you take it a gain to raise your math score in hindsight. I hope you have a safety? You’re too strong a candidate not to get into a good school.
