What are my chances of getting accepted to Lehigh University?

I’m a white female junior in Upstate New York. My overall GPA right now is a 93.88 and weighted is a 95.92. I have only taken 2 ap classes but I’m planning on taking 2 more next year and 2 classes from a nearby college at my school. The rest of my classes are honors except a few. I haven’t taken the official SAT yet but on the practice ones, I got 620 M… 630 R&W… total 1250. I know it’s low but I’m trying to improve it by 100 points. I’m involved in a decent amount of clubs, won a national award for a political cartoon, received 2 other small local awards, been involved in stage crew, swim team, and golf team at my school. I’m currently applying for NHS and will do a large amount of volunteer work over the summer. I have worked as a lifeguard at the YMCA during the winter and a country club in the summer. I know I’m only a junior but I visited Lehigh and it’s my top choice. Just wondering if I even have a chance of getting in

Also, I would probably apply regular decision to the Arts and Sciences college.
Let me know any advice to increase my chances!

Scores need to go up.

If Lehigh is indeed your top choice, your best chance for acceptance would be to apply ED1. Also, show a lot of interest to the admissions office.

This year my DD was rejected to Lehigh CAS with similar stats (1280 SAT, 3.8 GPA). Visited 3 times, interviewed & kept in touch with admissions counselor.
Improving test scores will help. But in retrospect, I think applying ED was her only chance.
That said, Lehigh has a very specific culture (read the threads about Greek life and the Brown & White online for more insight). My daughter liked everyone she met at the school but was afraid to commit because of the social scene.
Bottom line: do your research and if you LOVE it apply ED.
Good luck!

Some students perform better on the ACT, perhaps you should try taking that one. If you haven’t already, you could also work with tutor to bring up your scores. Or take many, many practice tests online.
