What are my chances of getting accepted?

I’m currently a high school junior and already thinking ahead to next year and college. I live in North Carolina and have been thinking about my options for college and I would die to go to Boston U since I’m from Massachusetts. I have a weighted GPA of about 3.8 and an unweighted GPA of about 3.33. My class rank is in the top quarter. I’m a 3 year member of DECA (i also won a medal at states), I’m in National Honor Society, other school clubs, play recreational sports, and have a job. I have over 100 volunteer hours over the past 3 summers. I’ll be a second generation college student (my sister is one year older than me.) I take all honors courses and 1 AP class. I’m looking to major in some type of Business Administration/Sports Management since I someday hope to work in an MLB Front Office or work for the Red Sox. My SAT score the first time I took it was 1500 (I know thats bad) but I plan to take that again and get it up to at least a 1750. I took the ACT but I am waiting for my scores back still. What are my chances of getting in??

Hey, I just want to let you know that I was just rejected from BU, but I was accepted into NYU and UCSD which are both more selective, so the college admissions process can be very unpredictable and there is really no way of knowing how whoever reads your application will think of you. My stats: 2070 on SATs, weighted 3.75 GPA, tons and tons of ECs (activities), 3 years of varsity rowing, part time job, international school for 2 years, and took 30 credits at a local university during my senior year. Based on those numbers alone, I was almost certain of my acceptance, but I did not get in. So just make sure your essays are super great and really try to bump up your SAT scores. And again, the process isn’t a reflection on how “great” they think you are, it’s just how well they think you are suited for the school. Best of luck!

Your UW GPA and SATs are kinda low
Only 1 AP class is kinda bad too.

Make sure you have killer essays and take as many AP classes as you can next year. Best of luck!
