I had two very bad semesters in college. I basically didn't go to class at all, and probably had a 0 GPA. So, I was put on suspension for a semester. I went back this semester and I have been doing very well. The good news is my GPA is going to be around 3.5 by the end of this semester (I am retaking all the classes I failed), and I plan on keeping it that way. I did have a lot going on those couple of semesters. My grandfather (who might have as well been my father) died. My boyfriend of 2 1/2 yrs, with whom I was considering marriage, broke up with me, and I was diagnosed with anxiety/depression. I am going to be a junior in Fall 2010, and I need to start looking for internships for Summer 2011. Internship applications are due around mid September. I have a very great interest in one of the larger firms- Moss Adams (I am an accounting major). I am simply wondering what my chances are? If I can make it to the interview process with them I will feel ok because I can then explain my transcripts and those bad semesters. But since I have to send an unofficial transcript I am concerned I won't even have a chance. I would like advice from anyone who has some sort of expertise in this area?

I realize that my resume will play a big part as well. However I don't feel as though I have a very strong resume. I am not a part of any clubs, and while there are things I do enjoy (extracurricular activities), I am not extremely dedicated to any of them. I work 15-20 hours a week, in the evenings, so I don't have time for much else. What can I do to make my resume look better? I have from now until next September to start so please help!
