I applied as an English major to both schools with a 2.95 GPA. After this semester, it will most likely rise to at least a 3.0. My essays were well-done. I am transferring from Palomar College in San Marcos, and have fulfilled all the requirements. Also, my Dad graduated from UCSB, but I'm not sure if that helps or not. I was just looking for feedback about what my chances are. thanks!

It would also depend on your extracurricular activities but with the information you provided I would think you have a chance at both school’s, a better chance at santa cruz.
Good luck!

Subjectively I’d say 60% at SB 85% at SC.

Like berkeleygirl said, it would help if you had some EC’s, IGETC done, and/or something that makes you unique.

My prediction:

90% UCSC
75% UCSB

Keep up the great work this semester so that when you update your app in January, you’ll have good recent grades/upward trend.

my bet is you’ll get into both

thanks a lot everyone! I have just been stressing out ever since I sent the applications and the wait is killing me. its good to hear positive feedback though… thanks!
