Very, VERY highly ranked in two international-level Olympiads - one English, the other Cyber (by a privately-run organization, though.)

Doing a writing internship with AOL India at the moment. Will be doing it for some time.

Am teaching street kids in an organization. Will have logged in 50hrs by the time applications are due.

I plan to study English there, by the way, with a concentration in Film & Media Studies or Communication Studies.

So, thoughts? Please be honest!

^^^

Hey lazygarfield,

Those SATs can get you into any school out there so you have no issues with those scores at all. In fact, can you loan me a 100 or so? haha! Dude I hate standardized tests.

On your grades, I am sure that any admissions office has a way to translate them over but I’ll have to admit I don’t understand the percentages. Are these your scores from last year? It appears you’ve already graduated. What were your grades your Junior year if it’s ok to ask.

Davidson, at least from the Admissions page, does look at SATs but I think it’s the very least component of the process, in terms of weight. They care way most about your courseload choice (rigor of choice) and the grades. By far this is the most important measure for Davidson. They want to see you take the hardest classes you can and do really well in them. I’m just not well enough aware of how your percentages translate and would like more information on that.

Come on over dude I want to go here, too, we can do this! Let’s go!

the kitesurfer.

Hey!

Thanks so much for the reply! Real confidence booster it was :D

Yes, I have already graduated. I’m in a gap year right now which I’m using to intern with AOL India, do community service and prove to my parents that I can live independently very well. I’m not kidding. no one in my family has ever gone abroad for higher studies and my parents’ biggest concern was how I would fend for myself so far away. So I moved to a different city and started living alone. Things are going swimmingly so far.

And my scores in Junior Year weren’t great. I got 78.4%. In India though, that’s par for the course. Everyone’s scores dip in Junior Year and marginally pick up in Senior Year, but still don’t reach Sophomore Year heights. Junior Year isn’t considered that important in India anyway. The exams for Sophomore and Senior are conducted by the education board, whereas the ones for Freshman and Junior are conducted by the schools themselves.
