What are my chances of getting in?

I’m an out of state high school junior looking at UT Austin, Texas A&M, and Texas State.
3.9 GPA unweighted, 2 APs and 4 Honors
School does not rank
31 ACT
2 years Varsity Cheer
1 year Varsity Track
1 Year JV Soccer
Microfinance Club
Girl-Up (Feminist) Club
School Student Ambassador
Young Republican’s Club
Interact Community Service Club
JSA Student Ambassador at UT Austin Summer Institute

You would be a lock for Texas State and A&M. Would need more information (class rank, expected major etc) to chance you for UT.

Thank you so much! What if my school does not rank? My expected major is communications.

UT is highly competitive so it’s hard to say what will happen. At worst I think you would get capped by UT.

Not a lock for A&M @Grainraiser.

Do you have your heart set on a Texas college @kate28? You should be able to get in to Texas Tech and UH, as well as other campuses of A&M and UT. But UTA is notoriously difficult for out of state students, and A&M is also getting more and more selective. Most seats at both universities are filled by in-state auto admits.

I like your ECs. A feminist club and Young Republicans. LOL.

Thanks to both of you. UT Austin is my top choice, but I know there’s a good chance I won’t get in. UTA, Texas A&M, and Texas State are the only schools I’m considering in Texas. Luckily, I have many schools in other states that are more achievable so one or two rejections won’t kill me.

You should get in to Texas State and maybe get some nice merit scholarship! And it is a beautiful campus! Lots of kids from our HS go there and I’ve never heard of anyone who didn’t absolutely love it! Sounds like you have plenty of great options!

Are you looking a any of the big private schools? You would be a catch for SMU, TCU, or Baylor.
