I am applying RD to Villanova, and I'm just wondering what my chances are at getting in. I'm fairly confident in my GPA and SAT scores, and I have a good amount of EC's. Any comments will be nice, thanks.
Here are some of my stats:
3.7 GPA
1280/1930 on SAT I
ECs: Class President (9-11), Model U.N. President (12), Drama Club, Peer Mediator, Principal's Cabinet, NHS, Italian Honor Society, History Honor Society, Writer for school newspaper, JV/Varsity Football (Captain 12), JV/Varsity Lacrosse, Fall Drama, Spring Musicals (lead roles 10-12, with nomination for award in 10th grade), Acafellas (a capella singing group), Madrigals (selective singing group),
Community Service: Sang in church choir, coach in youth basketball league, buddy ball sports (worked with mentally and physically challenged children)

2 letters of recommendation and a pretty good essay

Thanks for any comments back.

what school are you applying to?

The college of liberal arts and sciences.

Based on GPA (a bit low)/ SAT( marginally above) you are on a slight reach.EC’s are a plus for the application.
The real question is what else on your application will make the ADCOM offer you admission. You are competing with a large group of applications with similar profiles , what about you will stand out to the person judging your application.

I know my gpa is a bit low, but I’m hoping my supplement essay combined with my EC’s will be able to push be above the others who have similar stats, as well as my teacher rec’s. I’d like to think that because of those I have a better chance than most kids who have around the same stats.

Well , good luck to you.
My advice to you and others on the cusp , find a way to present something about yourself that is special or unique.
They are looking for a well rounded class , that includes a wide variety of unique and special characters.

What do you think about scheduling an interview? I was thinking about doing that in the near future with either an alumnus or an admissions worker.

I don’t know if interviews are conducted for undergraduate admissions.

[Villanova University: Meet Our Staff](http://www1.villanova.edu/villanova/admission/staff.html)

You could contact the admissions staff member for your area and find out.

Once again , good luck.

Ok I think I’ll do that. Thanks for the help.
