I’ll be a senior next fall. I moved to the USA 5 years ago, lived in Puerto Rico before that. I didnt do too good freshman year part because i was still adjusting to the USA. Sophomore year i did good, all A’s and B’s but no AP or Honors because my guidance counselor told me i wasnt ready. I was in couple “skill” classes thanks to being an immigrant and “not ready” according to my school. But i did good. Junior year did good in all my classes excet one C in Math. Volunteer club all three years and volleyball outside of school since eight grade. SAT score was low 1490. Planning to take it in October and get a higher score. Around a 3.0 GPA.
What are my chances?
And for NYU and Boston University?
Thanks
NEU you are a match for, even if you don’t score that much higher on the SAT. They have a huge international student community and are looking for diversity. For BU and NYU you will have to get at least a 1950 on the SAT.
For NYU - they may not accept you because of the freshman grades- but if you work hard you may have a chance, you can also write about your heritage and they will like that.
BU is a little easier to get into but you still need to work hard senior year and make up for freshman year.
