What are my chances of getting into a good college with a low gpa ?

I've always wanted to go to D1 school. I'm a track and field athlete and my talent can pretty much put me on any college team. My grades are really bad though. I finished my 9th and 10th grade years with a 73 average and now that im in my junior year and my grades arent looking to good , im a little nervous.

Part of the reason for my terrible grades is that i had a really bad depression and my attendance was low because of it. If i told them that will they take it into consideration ? Other than my gpa everything else is great . I'm a to sport athlete, i do alot of community service in my free time , i'm not worried about my college essays because im really intellectual and able to write them , and my SAT and ACT i will be taking in june. I would love to either go to LSU or Alabama to jump for them , but will i be able to with my grades ? would they even consider me for a scholarship in track with my gpa ?

Unless you have some stunning extracurriculars, it would be tough. What I would do in your situation is really hit the books and study for the SAT. The SAT can be a make-or-break for college; if you can get a high enough score, maybe around a 2000, you might be able to ameliorate the effects of your otherwise (in some areas) poor resume.

Please look at mine!
