What are my chances of getting into a good college?

I'm currently a sophomore doing pre-IB courses in dubai. I slacked off freshman year and had a 3.43 overall. These are my current grades for sophomore year:

1st term: gpa- 3.38

2nd term: gpa- 3.39

3rd term: gpa- 3.68

If I get a 3.8 in my fourth term, and maintain this gpa in my junior and senior years in IB, have a high ACT score, good teacher recs, and lots of extracurriculars/service hours, is there any chance of getting accepted into a really good college, northwestern university in chicago or boston university for example? will colleges look at the trend of improvement?

Yes, nice upward trend is very good- but that’s not the only thing they’re after. They’re looking for passion in a person- determined by ECs, essays, teacher’s recs and maybe to an extent specific grades and specfic SAT test scores(Subject test).

BU- match
U of Chi - high match/low reach
northwestern- ?

chance me back?

whoa u chicago is in no way a high match/low reach, it is a high reach
northwestern is a reach as well
and BU would be a low reach pending high SAT/ACT scores ofcourse
An unweighted gpa of 3.5 is low, try to really improve it 4th term and junior year.
