What are my chances of getting into a top boarding school?

The top schools I want to go to are Deerefield and Middlesex. I am in ninth grade now I would be entering in as a sophomore. I am 14 year old Caucasian girl.

My grades in school are all A's with one B :</p>

My SSAT score is 2400

I have been on my swim team for four years
I have been playing in the band for 5 years
I have been in drama club for four years
I have been in Job's daughters (religious youth group) for three years

I do minor volunteer work about once every month. It not for big charities, the main one I help with is HIKE. Which is a charity for deaf/ hearing impaired kids.

I haven't really won any major awards.

I know two languages: Korean and Spanish

I can code in two different languages Java and Python (at the basic level)

My families net income is 25,000 which would make me applicable for financial aid. Would my families financial situation hurt or help my chances of getting in to a top boarding school?

Needing significant FA will hurt your chances.

That really sucks

Yes, it is disheartening, but also very realistic. You would be an attractive candidate to almost any school, but even without FA your chances are never certain. There are a lot of equally attractive applicants. My best advice is to broaden your field, a lot. If you want feedback or ideas, post what you are looking for in a school (not on this forum, but perhaps on main Prep School Admission forum) and I’ll bet you get a lot of useful ideas. What do you like about these two schools, specifically? As long as you do not get locked into the idea that you must go to a school on some perceived “top” list, you will have a much greater chance of success and ultimately a great education. I could write pages of ideas and advice, but will hold back as I am not sure that is what you are looking for.
