I’m going to be applying for colleges next year and lets say I end up with a 3.6 unweighted G.P.A and a 4.0 weighted G.P.a and my SAT score is in the 1900 range. What are my chances of getting into UCI or UCSC?
What major are you applying for? Are you in state or out of state?
I’m in state and undeclared at the moment. Is there a higher chance of being accepted if I already know what I want to major in? Also, my extracurriculars are pretty weak. I’ve been on the golf team for 3 years and next year will be my 4th, I’ve been volunteering at my church for the past 3 years, and I go to an internship program for the past 3 summers. I’m attempting to start a food collecting program for homeless people, but I feel like it might be too late to do that??
And thanks for your responses ahead of time!!
You have a pretty good chance at SC. Irvine is definitely possible, though may be a bit of stretch. Could you calculate your UC GPA rather than your weighted one?
UC GPA: 3.63
Ah ok. Sorry to say this, but that actually changes things a lot. SC is a bit of a reach, and Irvine is even more so, but hopefully you get in. You can check SC right now through the portal.
With a 3.63 UC GPA, Irvine may be out of reach (Their average GPA is a 4.04). UCSC is still a slight stretch (Average GPA is 3.88), so for your targets, you might want to aim for some Cal-States or UC’s like UCM and UCR.
I actually calculate my UC GPA incorrectly. My UC GPA is a 3.97. Does that change anything?
