What are my chances of getting into an Ivy league, or Stanford etc??

Hey y’all! So I was just wondering what you guys thought my chances were of getting into either an Ivy or Stanford, etc etc. I’ll be applying to colleges starting this summer.

I’m a junior currently, home-schooled but taking all my classes at a community college, and have taken college classes at a prestigious University. I have a 4.0 GPA out of 4.0, and most of my classes have been honors classes. I started taking college classes when I was 14 at the University and switched to the community college at 16 to widen my course load. I am in the colleges Honors Program, and placed into Honors Calc 1 and Calc 2. I got a 34 on the ACT, and a 2100 on the SAT, and a 690 on Math 2, 660 on Lit Subject test(I’m not a good SAT person, more an ACT person). I also did undergraduate research when I was 16, for an undergraduate research conference and got picked to be one of 20 for a specialized group out of the entrances. I am top 5% of a class of over 2,000(homeschooled but still registered under one of my local schools)

For extracurriculars, I was a volunteer at my library for 6 years, a member of the teen advisory group for 6 years, and a member of the book club for 6 years(still going for all of these last three mentioned). I was a National award winning archer for 4-5 years, a gymnast for the last 8 years, a cheerleader for the last 2 years, and a boxing for several years on and off. I was a historian of both a Singing Chorus(past two years), and a Science Exploratory Club(one year). Active member of my youth group for last 5 or 6 years. Member of a junior engineering competitive club as well. I also have an internship at another prestigious University for this summer. I also have drawn basically as long as I can remember.

I want to get into Stanford more than anything, but don’t feel like I can reach it because while my resume is pretty good, I don’t really have any leadership roles which I know is pretty important, and my SAT scores weren’t great. I’m really hoping my drive and passion for education will show the admissions officers I would do great at these schools but I have no idea

So if you guys could let me know what y’all think(do I have a chance do you think?) that would be great!! Thanks!

I do not see “drive and passion for education” beyond your personal undertaking at the “prestigious university.”

I guess I didn’t make it come through in what I wrote, but I love education. I’ve always loved learning and always pushed myself to find the hardest courses and to master them. I love pushing myself, I love getting ahead, and I love bettering myself knowing that one day I might be able to help better the world with what I know. I believe that even thought my test scores may not be as high as many of the applicants for Stanford etc, that what I can bring to these colleges is a student who is willing to try her hardest to bring a curious mind, full of eager-ness, curiosity, and drive. I want to learn from the great teachers at these great colleges so badly that it almost hurts. I want to be surrounded by like-minded students that care about their education and want to make a difference in the world also. I want to take the education that I know I am so so lucky to have, and I want to help people that don’t have the same chances that I do.

I think your chances are pretty typical. You sound a lot like me with wanting to go to Stanford lol! You also sound well-rounded. Don’t worry about not doing well on the SAT; I also did much better on the ACT. Just submit your ACT to Stanford. If you really have a drive and passion for education, I would suggest incorporating that into your essay! Good luck!

Thanks pineapple86! Good luck!
