Any suggestions of where I should apply, and what I can do to improve my transcript

there is a "chances" thread, you know...

get some more ECs, study and retake SAT I for the writing, take a third SAT II, take math IIc because it has an easier curve, threaten to use your karate powers against adcoms unless they admit you

What if I go down when I retake it? And what other kinds of EC's should I do

study like an asian
then you wont go down

try to get more volunteer hours cause 50 is nothing
you're on track for an easy ivy, but if you wanna get into HPY, you gotta have a "hook." take something to the max, something you're good at. maybe you already did that with violin w/ all state + northeast youth

good luck

what other hooks do you suggest? Thanks for the advice. By the way, I'm korean american. Does that affect my chances in any way

haha "Study like an asian", lol, nice one tripNip

your koreanness doesnt help or hurt you

a true "hook" must be found within you. nobody can tell you the way to enlightenment, you must experience it yourself

what do you want to study in college?
sometimes knowing what you want to do and following a path in that area can improve your chances and also make you more successful in college

also think about why you want to get into an ivy. the prestige? or is it just that you don't realize that there are many great non-ivy colleges out there that may be better for you based on your interests and finanacial situation. for example, if you want to study engineering or the sciences, MIT may be a better goal for you. most ivies teach primarily social science majors, so that is what those schools will be best for

yes, a better approach is to decide what you want out of college, see what colleges have to offer, and if certain colleges meet your expectations, go for it
