I’ve been looking into women’s colleges lately (never thought I’d say that!) and Barnard looks absolutely amazing. I love that it’s in NYC and has an excellent reputation. I’m also into the small liberal arts college type feel, and this fits the bill.

I don’t know of my stats meet the grade for Barnard, though. I have a strong extra-curricular as an internationally ranked athlete, but my other scores don’t look so hot on paper. I’d also like to emphasize in my app (if I do apply) that I have lived away from my family since sophomore year, living in DC, Milwaukee, and Salt Lake in order to train. Thought I’d add that since they seem to like the “independent and motivated” students.

Here’s my stats though-

Cyber-school student
1830 SAT
3.7 GPA
2 AP classes
2 honors classes
National Honor Society
Girl Scout for 12 years (various service projects; silver & bronze awards earned)
Athlete: National champ; 2 national records; jr. world team; competed abroad at world champs 2x (ps it’s not a collegiate sport so I can’t be recruited)
I write a strong essay.

With that being said, is there a chance I could be accepted in Barnard?
