What are my chances of getting into BC

I am a Junior in highschool and a prospective student. I would like to know what you think my chances are for acceptance into the school

I am in the top 10% of my class, and my GPA is a 3.92

My SAT Score is an 1860 (much lower than the midrange)

My EC activities hopefully make up for a bit of lacking test scores

I have been president of Student Government each year I’ve been in high school and I was elected executive board president for next year

I was elected FBLA President for next year

I have been admitted into Peer Leadership for next year (a very difficult feat),

I am a Varsity Tennis and Soccer Player and a candidate for Tennis Captain next year

I have 800+ service hours and I have been a member of the Red Cross Youth Group since freshman year

I have taken AP Calculus and APUSH, I expect to get atleast a 3 on the calculus exam and atleast a 4 on the APUSH, if not a 5

I am also a member of an International Business Alliance Program through Leadership Initiatives in Washington D.C. where I am partnered with a Nigerian Business. Our Group comes up with business plans and solutions to help our partner’s business grow. I am also the fundraising coordinator of the club and I am required to create fundraising solutions to earn 5000 each year which I have been successful with.

With all of this information, do you think my chances are significant enough to consider Boston College a reach school, or are my chances simply too minuscule with my lacking test scores?

I’d definitely say BC is a reach, considering that SAT score. However, BC is huge on holistic admissions, and definitely emphasizes service and commitment to others. To have your best shot, focus on your service hours and maybe find a supplemental part of the app (or even a separate letter entirely) to justify the low SAT. If you can pull the SAT up like 200 points, or whatever the converted new 1600-scale SAT is, I’d definitely take the exam once more, or even the ACT, if you think it might better cater to your exam-taking style.

Hope this helped.

Thank you very much, I think I can pull up my SAT score with this new scale for sure since the writing was my lowest section of the old SAT and that is no longer its own section on the new SAT.
