What are my chances of getting into Berkeley?

I am a California resident and am half filipino half white.

I want to major in Business so I am applying as pre business undetermined

I have a 4.15 weighted and 3.8 unweighted. I don't go to that great of a school, we have less than an 800 API score and I am ranked number 10 in my class of 500 students.
My SAT Score is a 1680... and ACT a 28 (Tests are not my strength)
I've taken AP Euro (2), AP Lang (4), AP Enviro (4), AP US (4), Honors Chem, and am currently taking AP Calc AB, AP Lit, and AP Gov and Politics.

My extra-curricular activities are my strength:
ASB/Leadership for 4 years, NHS President, CSF for 4 years, Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar Ambassador (Only one selected from my city), HOBY Junior Counselor volunteer and now work on the seminar planning committee, California Association of Student Leaders State Board member (1 of 22 in the state of california and I present at leadership conferences with thousands of people and plan the CASL State Conference, all volunteer work), and a lot of other various school clubs.

Awards:
Principal's Golden Circle, Student of the Month (9th, 11th, and 12th grade, sponsored by local chamber of commerce) Ap Scholar award, Junior of the Year award, and the President's Service Award (from the Corporation for National and Community Service).

I have over 500 hours of community service and also work 20 hours a week for a local high speed internet company for the past 2 years.'

My personal statements are about how my parents were never involved with my school work which cause me to become independent from a young age and causing me to discover my passion for leadership. The second one is my struggle of coming out in high school and how that has shaped my perspective in life. Both I've been told by UC readers are really good so I'm pretty confident with them.

I know I don't have great test scores but I hope they can look over them with my extra-curriculars.

I wouldn’t send that SAT score if I were you. Your ACT is still low, but the rest of your application seems solid. Good luck.

Raise your ACT score and dont send the SAT score. As it stands now, Berkeley is a high match to low reach.

Berkeley: Reach

Try a test-optional school on top of those ones…

Weak candidate for Cal, but I would say you still have a chance because Berkeley considers applicants coming from high schools like yours.

10/100 chance

I call people with high gpa’s and low exam grades, teacher pets.

Kid 1: 4.0 GPA 1700 SAT = Diligent. Average Intelligence

Kid 2: 3.6 GPA 2300 SAT = Lazyish. Extremely Intelligent.

Id take Kid 2 over any person.

I just retook the ACT today and I feel really confident with it. The problem is I already submitted my app and included my SAT scores. My friend’s mom is a UCSD app reader and she said that they just use your highest score… but I know Berkeley is more selective… If I improved to a 30 how would my chances look?

@hokage12, why? I assume most institutions want someone who can actually contribute to their school environment, not just sit around. And just because you get a 2300 doesn’t mean you’re extremely intelligent. There’s a method to these tests; test prep centers tell you how to figure out answers even if you have no idea what they’re asking. Diligent people beat out lazy people any day.

I would suggest looking at Bowdoin or Bates, which are test optional. What with your ECs, I’d say they’re matches for you (Bates more than Bowdoin, but there you have it). Good luck!

should’ve said you were hispanic…SAT’s are low for Cal as asian/white
