So this is basically my current predicament: I’m a junior and have a 3.8ish gpa (slightly unsure because my school doesn’t give us our gpas often but I’m taking AP courses that have boosted my grades so hopefully that’ll reflect in my gpa as well). Half my classes are AP/honors and next year about 6/8 of my classes will be AP/honors. I’m taking the sat next month but my practice scores are about 1380 on the new scale. I haven’t begun practicing for the act. I’m a Model UN officer, Latin club officer, Junior National Classical Language League officer (I think that’s how the full title goes), news letter/photographer for the robotics team, and have been published by my school’s academic journal (I’m hoping to be an editor next year). I also have very strong writing capabilities. My plan is to go to Bryn Mawr for my undergraduate to major in psychology and minor in neuroscience. Do I have a chance of getting in? Do I have a chance of getting into schools like it? (Radcliffe, Vasser, etc…) If I go to these schools and maintain high scores, do I have a good chance of getting accepted to schools like Stanford for my graduate?
Your chance of getting into Radcliffe is extremely poor. Much better odds at the other schools.
Seriously, if you do well on standardized testing I think you have a good chance at getting into Bryn Mawr. Nobody has a good chance at getting into Stanford. Consider adding Mount Holyoke to your list.
LOL Radcliffe.
What, exactly is your predicament (“a difficult, unpleasant, or embarrassing situation”)? You sound like a very normal HS student. You have a lot of reasonable ECs, you seem to have pretty good grades (though be aware that UW > W) and your practice SAT is in the middle 50% of admitted students. So why wouldn’t you have “a chance” of getting in?
And, not to be rude, but given that you are a little out of date on Radcliffe, and just in case it matters, Vassar is no longer all-female. As @WISdad23 noted, Mount Holyoke is still all-female, along with Smith, Wellesley and Barnard.
Okay thank you!
By predicament I meant more like “I don’t know if what I’m doing will get me accepted, should I change or not” sort of thing. I also meant more like do I have a good chance rather than chance, mistake on my wording, sorry. And you’re not being rude, college isn’t something to mess up on so any information is helpful.
