I have a 4.0 GPA. I am salutatorian.
I got a 30 (33 la, 30 science, 30 reading, 29 math) on the ACT and 1340 (700 reading, 660 math) on the new SAT.
I am a biracial (black & white) female.
I have taken all honors and gifted classes including 9 AP classes (human geo, world & us history, Calc bc, psych, govt, econ, chem) w/ 4’s & 5’s on all the tests I have taken.
I have cheered all 4 years of HS.
I have been a member of Beta Club and National Honors society since 10th grade. I am currently secretary of my Beta Club chapter (1 year term).
I was class president 9th and 11th grade year, and I was class VP 10th grade. (Student govt)
I volunteered at a daycare for 6 months as a mentor.
I currently volunteer at my former middle school as as mentor (6 months).
I also have worked at Zaxby’s for 1 year.
Your chances are honestly not that great. Your scores are far below the 25th percentile. However your grades are good. It is possible that you’ll get in but it will be tough.

@novakaaai_, I just took a look at Duke’s Common Data Set for 2015-2016. The 25th percentile was 31 and 75th percentile was 34. At a 30 ACT, you would be slightly below the 25th percentile (but not “far” below as another poster stated). Your academic record looks quite strong, especially all 4s/5s in 9 AP classes. Essays count a great deal in the application process. Hopefully you did well on those.
Duke is a “reach” for you, but it is a reach for everyone applying. I wouldn’t give up hope. Just make sure you’ve applied to some safety schools.
You’ve accomplished a lot in high school. Be proud of that.
BTW, “33 la, 30 science, 30 reading, 29 math” equals 30.5. That should have rounded up to 31. Maybe you mis-typed one of the scores?
