I am going into my senior year of high school with a 4 weighted gpa and 3.5 unweighted gpa. I have taken 3 ap classes so far and I'm taking 3 more this year. I have played varsity ice hockey for 3 years and will have played for 4 by the end of this year and I have also run track for what will be my third year. I got a 740 on SAT math, 700 on writing and 660 on CR. I am in a few clubs and I have done some volunteering. I am also a 2 year member of NHS. The one problem is that my class rank is 100/365 but I go to a school with many very smart kids and I have taken some of the hardest classes that my school offers. I have heard that course rigor is very important to these schools and despite the fact that my gpa may not be fantastic, I have managed a 4 in some very difficult classes.

6 ap classes is good, but a couple more (8-10) is optimal. Really good SAT score, enhance the EC’s and I think you’d be on your way, I think as of now your at a slight reach. Also, your first two quarters are probably accounted for in your application so make sure to work hard first semester to get your gpa up(it probably wont go up by much, but anything is better than nothing). Good luck!
