Hi. I am really intrigued by IMSA (Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy), a charter school for gifted students in Illinois. I aspire of becoming an aerospace engineer for NASA and going to MIT. I understand that going to any other public school would give me the same opportunity, but IMSA does give their students a much better opportunity to succeed, both in college and in the future, and it is a highly ranked public school across the nation. I am currently in seventh grade and I plan to apply in eighth grade. These are my stats:
3.98 projected GPA
On my last SAT, I got a 1390 (730 Math, 660 Reading), but on my last practice test, I got a 1460 (800 Math, 660 Reading)
Volunteered at Naperville Public Library for two years and running
Finished Kumon Math Program
Volunteering at Kumon Center
Was on AA Basketball Team
Was on Naperville Youth Symphony Orchestra and School Chamber Orchestra
Was on school cross country and track team
Was on school math team (Two years and running)
Was on school robotics club (Two years and running)
Was in school debate club (Two years and running)
Was in school student council and am running for president in eight grade (Two years and running)
However, I’ve only won four academic rewards for school math team, three of which were for our team (First, Second, and Third Place) and only one individual reward (First Place)
What are my chances of getting in?
