What are my chances of getting into Lehigh University ED2?

NY, female (school does not have class ranks)
Applying ED2
I visited and interviewed as well as stayed in contact with admissions counselors

also funny story, this weekend I spoke with a grandfather of children I’ve been babysitting for, and he is on the board of ED for Lehigh. He said he would write me a recommendation!! (does this increase my chances?!)

(Would it be smart to visit again in early January, even though my application would have already been sent just to show even more interest?

Sat- 1820 (I know its low, I’m a very bad trust taker)
Gpa- 93%

essay/supplements- very very good

Freshman year overall average- 94%
Sophomore year overall average- 95%
Junior year overall average- 84% (really went down) (I mentioned at the end of the common app the personal problems within my family that caused this drastic drop)
Senior first semester- I’m estimating about 88-92%

Hi there. You have a lot of stats and that is great. Lehigh likes to see prospective applicants as a whole, as in to see how and if they can thrive and succeed with the Lehigh family rather than just numbers. When I applied last year, my SAT and ACT scores were low but my grades were “on point”. Haha anyways, but I had a lot to show about my accomplishments and struggles. Admission wants to see your interest/ LOVE for their dear Lehigh. Just pour your heart out for Lehigh if Lehigh is the school for you. I hope you enjoy your journey ahead!

Wow! You are a well rounded student excelling in all areas and you have great connections! I can definitely say you have a great chance of being admitted. Best of luck to you and happy holidays!

What is the point in applying ED II? You get your decision merely a month before RD, and it does not really increase chances…

The point is to allow those who wanted to apply ED 1 to have more time to submit their application. Plus it shows a slight bias of thier loyalty to the college

@LesGarc Hi, thank you the response!! Yeah I completely poured my heart out haha. My common app essay is about my sisters abduction, and as I mentioned before, at the end of my application, I was given room to write about the struggles that were going on within my family during my junior year. My grades and scores are definitely below average for the school, but hopefully my connections and essays will boost my chances!! Thanks again!

@smileyface74123 Wow, thank you so much!!! Same for you
