I do a lot of martial arts when I'm not at school.

I haven't taken the SAT and ACT yet, but on the PSAT, i got a 210.

Based on this, what are my chances so far? This college is literally my dream.

Freshman year is definitely going to hurt your GPA, but if you show an upward trend you can held remedy that somewhat. Try your best to achieve high standardized test scores, and get some leadership positions in clubs that truly interest you. Pursue scholarships and other honors/awards while you still can also. As of right now, your chances are not terrible compared to most other applicants’, but that’s not saying much considering MIT’s acceptance rate. Junior year is the most important, so keep that in mind moving forward and try to get the most out of it.

Yeah, my freshman year was bad because I was dealing with a lot of bullying, abusive parents, and a really good friend of mine died around the same time, so my grades just went downhill. I’m literally trying so hard to make up for those bad grades.

MIT is one of the most selective schools in the country. It is rare that ANYONE in my high school even gets accepted. I know two people last year that applied. They both had all As in every class (they only took APs and honors), and never got anything lower. They both were presidents of various clubs and had part-time jobs. They both got rejected. However, one went to Cornell and the other went to Princeton. It’s hard to say with the information you gave. I would try to go more in depth with those ECs: get an internship or volunteer somewhere outside your school. Do something that transcends what your school provides. Keep working on those SATs. And don’t forget essays and recs are extremely important as well for MIT!

The chances for anyone getting into MIT are very slim. Your freshmen year grades will definitely hurt especially if you got the Bs/Cs in math and science classes. Keep getting the As, that’s about all you can do to try to make up for your freshmen year grades. Aim for higher than a 2100 SAT. Focus on the math section; its rare that anyone gets accepted to MIT with lower than a 750 Math score. Good luck!
