I am a high school senior (Class of 2014 stand up!) and as of right now I have a 3.33 unweighted GPA and a 4.1 weighted GPA. I want to go to State for mechanical engineering or possibly something business related. Including the classes I'm taking this year, I will have taken 7 AP classes by the time I graduate next year.
This Semester: Next Semester:
AP English IV Speech 1
Physics Honors AP Gov't and Politics
AP Calculus 1 AP Calculus BC
Technological Design Drafting II Architecture Honors

In addition to those 4 AP classes, I have taken AP Enlgish 3, got a 3 on the exam, US History, got a 4 on that exam, and AP Environmental Science.

Also, I got a 27 on the ACT and took the SAT for the 2nd time this past Saturday.

If it helps, I'm an African American from a relatively low income family. This is also my 4th year playing Varsity basketball, to which I am an All-Conference and Academic player. I've also been holding down a part time job at the local sub shop for 8 months now. In addition, this is my first year on Student Council at my school as the Treasurer.

Do I look competitive to get in? My 2nd choice is UNC Charlotte, which has a great engineering program, and A&T, one of the best HBCU's in the country and a great STEM school as well!

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has any advice as to how I can find community service options that would make me look more well rounded, that'd be great. Any Engineering internships for students? Thanks!
