What are my chances of getting into Northeastern University?

At the end of Sophomore year I had a 3.45 GPA. However, I expect it to be around a 3.55 at the end of my Junior Year (we haven't had them updated yet). My SAT scores are high, a 1940. For AP classes I have taken: US Government, US History, Statistics, Biology, Economics, Language, and Literature. I am heavily involved with extra curricular activities such as: newspaper club, DECA, environmental club, peer mediation, softball, winter track, volleyball, Jr. Rotary club, etc. I also hold many positions in these after school activities such as the treasurer of ski club, VP of DECA, and an officer of Jr. Rotary Club. I also have two jobs and am a world traveler, seeing as I have been to eleven different countries within the last two years. I was just wondering what I can do to bring chances up, because as of now they are VERY slim. I only have one semester left to raise my GPA, so it will not go up by a lot.

Take the ACT and see whether or not you will score a 31 or better, in which case NEU won’t be a reach anymore. But right now NEU is a reach.

I think you have a very good chance of getting accepted. Your GPA is pretty high and so are your SAT scores and being a world traveler will definitely help. I wouldn’t say at all that your chances are very slim. Nice work!

Is your GPA weighted or unweighted? SAT scores need a bit of a rise. Extra curriculars look good.

I have to agree more with Catria than bgoldman, however.

NEU seems to like test-scores so definitely get those up. Write a good essay and your chances should be fairly decent.
