I applied ED to the Medill School of Journalism and Northwestern University, I'm thinking it might be a long shot as the journalism school is very selective, but let me know what you think.

-SAT 2150 (750 CR, 730 W, 690 M)
-top 8% of the class (21 out of about 250)
-i submitted a strong journalism portfolio of my articles and a short art portfolio (about 3 pieces)
-GPA 3.58 (i know its a little low)
-editor in chief of school newspaper
-lots of community service at my church as a peer minister and i got a letter of recommendation from the head of the program
-played D1 field hockey for 4 years
-freshman class president, national honor society member, literary magazine club member for 3 years, a bunch more clubs

basically i'm just wondering if my rank, GPA and SAT scores are okay..

thanks, i think my article samples are pretty strong as well as my reccomendations and ECs…but does anyone know if my GPA would be a deal breaker or if Northwestern has a strict minimal GPA requirement?

I think that your portfolio and the general quality of your writing will determine your admission. If you think your writing is sufficiently qualified, you’re probably good.
