What are my chances of getting into Northwestern University or NYU

In Northwestern University, I am mainly interested in getting into their Medill School for journalism.

Academics:
SAT score: 2160
CR: 630. Math: 750. Writing: 780

ACT score: 33

unweighted GPA: 3.74
Weighted GPA: hovering between a 4.8 and a 4.9

Classes include some APs and honors.

Extracurriculars:
1 yr of American Sign Language Club
School Newspaper
Big Brother/Sister program
Freshman mentoring
VP of Community Service Club
School literary magazine

80 hours of volunteering at local hospital
Tutoring

Teen Editor on online magazine
All year internship at a NYC based magazine
Summer internship at social media startup
Summer foreign language research program

Also, if I get in, what are my chances of getting financial aid.

Financial aid is dependent on your income and demonstrated need, so no one here will know what will come of it.

EC’s are decent, academic stats aren’t that impressive. I would say your chances are pretty low at Northwestern and pretty good at NYU.

There’s a pretty significant difference between these two schools. I’d say that Northwestern is a reach, while NYU is a match.

Chance me back?
