What are my chances of getting into Northwestern University?

Hey! So my unweighter gpa is 3.8 while my weighted is 4.0
I have not taken my SAT but will next week
I got a 760 on my Spanish Subject Test, 650 on Math 1, and 620 on US History
I got a 4 on my Ap World exam, 5 AP spanish, 4 on Ap us history
I got straight A's all junior year ^__^
I am ranked top 30 out of 737.

I don't know if I'll get in though, i feel so inferior to others in my school. But this is like my dream school. I'm hoping Posse Los Angeles or Quest Bridge will help.

You probably should improve your Math I/US History subject tests to 700+ to meet the high standards that NU has. Other than that, I can’t really make an accurate decision without seeing some more about you: ECs, community service, essays, recommendations, etc.

Chances are very very very low. Even with a high SAT, your class rank essentially places you out of competition at Northwestern.

I have a job right now at California Pizza Kitchen and I have done like 100 hours of community service. I’m going to be SAS (small learning community) Treasurer at my school for senior year. I am going to T.A. for the “number one” teacher at my school and she said she will right me a recommendation for any school.
@cortana: Are you kidding? Northwestern’s average is around the top 9 percent of a school, while I am top 4 percent

Also, I am a first generation college student, son of single mother, and Hispanic (Colombian-Uruguayan). My mother only makes an annual income of $24,500.

Dont listen to Cortana. As long as you raise your SAT II scores and do well on SAT I, then your chances are very likely.

Yeah, it’s hard to say anything without SAT, go in aiming for 2150+ but obviously the higher the better. If you are willing to commit yourself to Northwestern, undoubtedly go for Early Decision as they offer an significant boost for ED applicants.

I really would take the other posts with a grain of salt. My friend had a relatively low GPA, was an A/B student, had very few ECs, but is an amazing writer and is going to NU next fall. I think essays are the most important factors in decisions.

LOL thank you guys
@dblazer what exactly do you mean by NU offering a significant boost for ED applicants

I meant a boost in admissions chances; in general schools that have an ED policy will generally give ED applicants increased odds; NU in particular professes giving preference to ED applicants.

Oh yay thank you! :)

OP posted that he was a first generation hispanic after I posted my thoughts, so I obviously wasn’t aware of that. Yes, he has a pretty likely chance now getting into Northwestern as long as he get a ~2100+ and applies early decision.

But normally, a unhooked applicant in that rank would have a tough time getting into Northwestern. It’s admissions policies are changing and is becoming much more competitive.

(I admit, I did exaggerate in my first post a bit)
