What are my chances of getting into northwestern ?

I know Northwestern is a hard school to get accepted into but when i went to visit i loved it so much and just was curious what my chances were since i used to live in Evanston and would love to go back.

next year i plan on taking 5 APs and one honors class
also over the summer i am dual enrolling in two classes at a local college

my gpa is not that great (its a 3.4 currently) since i did not do so well in spanish 3 and in the high school classes i took in middle school

Im taking the ACT and SAT in a couple months so i dont have scores yet but on my psat i got a 1200 but i expect to get high test scores on both

and my dad went to northwestern but im not sure if alumni matter?

and my intended major is either civil engineering or human resources

i know my chances are probably not good but im just curious to see what other people think

(other schools i want to go to are NYU, GWU, American, Fordum, and im also applying to FSU since i live in florida)

Yeah, SAT scores need to be higher, like 1450+. Mine is a 1400 and still too low for them. You have a whole year, use it!GPA is a bit low too, try to raise it this year. You need to have at least, a higher GPA, or very high SATs, if not both.

Good EC’s. Good rigor/classes. Alumni status will help, and if you’re committed to NU, ED there. They’re known for accepting a much greater percentage of students. I think you have a shot, if you write well, and improve your stats greatly.
