I’m currently only in ninth grade, but NYU is my dream school because I’ve heard it has a really good journalism program. Sooo… here’s “my key information” I guess. I don’t really know how important if at all some of these things are but I decided to list everything just in case
-3.6ish gpa (I have a 3.7 rn but idk if it will stay that way for the end of the term lol)
-published a book and donating profits to a charity which helps inner city kids get a better education, etc.
-working for Lucid magazine
-article published in Germ magazine
-essay published in anthology
-plays field hockey, and varsity track both winter and spring
-marching band and concert band
-2 honors classes and high level Spanish (which is basically an honors equivalent I guess)
-student editor for litmag, which is my school’s literary magazine
-secretary of human trafficking awareness club in which I am directing a social media campaign
-volunteered to help kids learn music in a winter ensemble
-volunteer for the organization mentioned above that helps inner city kids
-Hispanic girl
-babysitting, beach attendant, ice cream scooper, possibly working in book store
-working on my global citizenship award
-starting a magazine club for next year which I will be a co-president of
-haven’t taken the sat yet but the average at my school is about 1800 and not to brag of course but I’m probably a little above average just because I take honors classes, etc?
So please let me know how good my chances are and what else I can do to help improve my chances. I appreciate any feedback
