What are my chances of getting into NYU??

So, NYU is my dream school, and I was wondering if I would be a good candidate. I would love any advice. My gpa is a 3.3 . I am a sophomore. I’m taking a couple AP classes, (AP English, and AP Geometry) I will take more throughout high school. I am part of a program that is for College prep and SAT/ACT prep. I will take the SAT and ACT Junior year.

My passion is robotics and science fair. I am part of two robotics programs, and am part of two teams. One of my teams has won the South-West Regional competition twice, and we will be the representative team for the South-West in Nationals. My other team has won three state regional competitions. For science fair, I won the U.S. Public Health Service Award and an Outstanding Student Award from the U.S. Surgeon General. I have served as an honorary page for my state senate, and got a certificate from the state.

I am part of an international girl’s leadership program that is all about volunteering and learning/improving leadership skills, it’s called Leaders-Now International. I have volunteered at the state bio-park (s) for two summers. I constantly volunteer at food-banks, and at many hospitals. I am a scout captain/mentor for girls scout. I have held a community day for my school, so that my school can be known throughout the community, and so the school can have the chance to help out our community. I am going to be an intern this summer to an engineer/professor at my state university.

If it helps I am a female (clearly). I am a Palestinian-American. I am fluent in Arabic.

I really want to go to NYU, but am open to any other colleges that people may recommend. I would love some advice on what else I have to do to be a good candidate, any advice would be awesome and I would appreciate it! Thanks!

awkward…any responses…

The courses you are taking seem to be fine. However, your gpa is low. Since you’re a sophomore, I would advise you to enjoy this year and do the best you can. Trust me, you have plenty of time in the coming years to worry about college. It’s good you’re interested in getting into a top college, but it’s hard to chance you since you don’t have many stats to post yet. I think you’re well on your way to NYU, though. Keep working hard and you’ll do great!

I want to go to NYU too! I think that I would have to agree with the above post though! GPA as well as SAT/ACT is VERY important! Of course extra curriculars are something to keep in mind!
