I just finished sophomore year of high school, with a weighted GPA of 4.3, unweighted 3.8. My phys ed grade really dragged it down. I took the maximum amount of honors and AP classes both freshman and sophomore year (one AP class sophomore year, the rest honors) and got all A's, except for one B+ freshman year and a B+ sophomore year. i feel like i didnt try my best the first two years of high school .
Next year im taking 3 AP's and all honors classes, and i plan to raise all of my grades and do a lot better.
I havent taken any standardized tests yet, but i scored a 31 on the practice act. I have like 5 clubs for extracurriculars and high honor roll for freshman and sophomore year, and next year i plan on volunteering at the hospital and doing more things outside of school. this summer im taking spanish courses at an institute and studying for the SAT.
can you please tell me what i can do to increase my chances of getting in?? i feel like i have no extracurriculars because i cant do sports and that my grades arent good enough for nyu im hoping that i score high on the sat

If you score a 31 on the real exam, NYU would be a high match

Over this summer get some good volunteering in! Your not to off for NYU and the 31 on the practice ACT is a good start. I obtained a 33 on my practice ACT and only a 30 for my composite. You have good chances it seems you have a challenging Junior year schedule with excellent marks. Try to seperate yourself from the competition, be unique, different, and something the common applicant can’t offer to the school. Do not stress about 2 B+'s it’s not the end of the world. Just push through next year and get all A’s. Good Luck and if you have a 31 ACT with a 3.8 UW your definitely a match instate.

You should be fine as long as your don’t go drastically down, and continue to volunteer.
