What are my chances of getting into Phillips Academy Andover?

Hi, I am currently in the 8th grade looking to apply to PA to start 9th grade. I seriously didn't know how competitive it is and am seriously doubting my chances of getting accepted. I go to an private international school in Brunei, one of the biggest in south east Asia. My school follows a British curriculum with the grading system something like this:

A*= 90-100
A= 80-89
B= 70-79
C= 60-69
etc.

year 8= grade 7
year 9= grade 8
etc.

My grades are a variety of A's and A*'s and i participate in a number of extra curricular activities inside and outside of school.
- I was captain of the netball team for three years, and was voted MVP multiple times for various tournaments overseas
- on the swim team for 5 years
- national swim team for 3 years where i won best girl for my age group for most competitions
-on the basketball team
- on the national netball team of Brunei
- tap and jazz dancing for 8 years, and got honours and high recommendations for most exams
- prestigious academic achievements for top 10 in the year group for every year since year 6
- jazz ballet for 3 years
- piano for 7 years, where i got the top mark out of the whole country for the grade i did
- part of the model united nations for 1 year
- took many leadership camps/ courses
- contributed to orphanages in Cambodia, as well as the local children's hospital there
- wrote a couple of stories that were then featured in the yearly school magazine
- taken leadership roles on the student and house council for 4 years

IM SORRY IF THIS SEEMS LIKE I'M BRAGGING!! I'm not trying to be!! But i just want a realistic response of my chances!

Your extracurriculars are great, but there are loads of other factors that play into admissions. Do you need financial aid? Are your grades okay? What about test scores or teacher recommendations? Are you an URM? So far, you’re on the right track, but it’s a tough road with a limited chance. Additionally, are you applying for the 2015-16 school year? Applications for this year (2014-15) are closed.

@pdl100‌ That’s good to hear. I do not need financial aid, and my grades have been good consistently, but as my school runs on a British curriculum they do not offer the tests that you need to take (SSAT, ISSE) so I’m not really sure what to do about that. My teachers all like me, but I’ll have new ones this year and I’ll probably apply for the 10th grade then next year (2015-2016). Also I’m going to Boston for the summer, should my family and I drive up to have an interview, or is it too soon? Thanks for answering by the way!

Schools don’t typically administer the SSAT or ISEE, so you need to see whether that’s offered someplace else in your city or country. If not, you’ll need to contact the schools and figure out a solution.

It depends when you’re going to Boston. If you can, great! Face-to-face interviews are always best. Call the school up and give them your dates to see if it works. It always is better to tour when school is in session, but it’s not horrible to not do that.
