What are my chances of getting into Purdue University?

I am currently a junior in high school and have a 3.4 GPA. This year I am taking my first AP class which is computer science (computer science is what I want to major in btw) and I am really going to put forth all my effort this year and try to reach a 4.0 for the year (if not, as close as possible). This year I will join: Future Business leaders of America, chess club, work 1-2 jobs, community service and intern at places that do software engineering. Also I have played 2 years of soccer at JV level and decided not to play this year so that I can focus on school. I’m currently taking a lot of tutoring sessions for the ACT and plan on taking it multiple times to reach my goal of a 30 or higher. Given this information what do you think my chances are of getting in the college? Any advice? (if any)…

Your 3.4 makes you very very iffy. Purdue isn’t going to reward you for your ECs. Focus on getting that 4.0 and that ACT 30. Those will make a difference – If you pop a 4.0 for this year and first semester senior year, you’d have a 3.66 GPA.

I’ve known a couple people go to Rose because they weren’t admitted to engineering at Purdue. But they were in-state. Might be different for out of state.
