oh and I am a member of NHS and SNHS at my school as well.

Rice: Match

Strong test scores, GPA, academics and nice ECs/volunteer activities as well. Is this your first SAT? If so, I recommend possibly taking the test one more time for a better CR score, trying to get all your scores into the 700 range. Do well on your AP/IB tests as well. Rice would be a Match considering that you are in state and applying early, right?
Anyways, good luck!

yes I took that one in october and am waiting for the scores from april sat. I definitely have studied to get CR up to 700 :)

Yes I am planning to apply early! would having a couple B’s on the transcript affect acceptance?

Not at all. Even if you were applying to an Ivy League School, it wouldn’t have a tremendous impact. Your W GPA definitely shows that the course rigor is there, and given that, a couple of Bs are probably expected. Another thing to consider is that you might want to take some SAT Subject Tests. I haven’t done the research on Rice, but even if they do not require them, it is still a good idea and can provide a boost to your application.

SAT Subject Tests aren’t required, although I managed to send in my worst and was still admitted. Rice looks like a match, but make sure that you can afford the school even without FA if you’re applying ED.

I took my first SAT subject in December which was Math I and got a 770.

In june I plan to take Math II and Biology and later on Chemistry.

thank you so much i started to worry since rice has been my top choice for a while.
