GPA: 3.92 UW
SAT: 1600 ):
Ranked 8 in my senior class
Tons of Volunteering and extracurricular
For senior year, taking 23 credits each quarter at a community college instead of doing regular high school classes.

Out-of-state, ):

Do you think I can get in with such low SAT scores? I'm worried since I still haven't heard back from them yet =/

And I also had some problems freshman year so basically I got all failing grades for a year. =/ But the thing is that those grades didn't count towards my GPA so my GPA remained high since I worked really hard after that.

I applied to:
Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy,
School of Arts and Sciences in New Brunswick,
and School of Environmental and Biological Sciences

I was attending Rutgers University Newark where I could not afford my books because my financial aid was not granting me enough money. I then joined the United States Marine Corps. I finished at Rutgers University Newark with 12 credits and a 2.5 GPA because of my financial distractions. If I had my financials together I would have had a 3.0 to 4.0 GPA at Rutgers University Newark. I am currently attending a community college. I will have 12 credits and a around 4.0 GPA at the CC. I will be applying to Rutgers NB with 24 credits and a 3.25 GPA. Do you think that I have a chance of getting in for the fall semester 2010?

We live out of state, and my child was accepted with a lower SAT score than yours to Rutgers NB the day after Thanksgiving. We don’t think one single factor played a role in this decision but believe that applying early to schools, getting several teacher recommendations, emphasis on work/extracurricular experience and awards on college application, and taking SAT three times have all contributed to my child’s acceptance. A great GPA which you also have and class rank is important, but it should be based on a somewhat challenging course load of course.

As a side note, we just came back from an information session this past weekend. The Rutgers’ school of pharmacy is the only school of pharmacy in New Jersey. Students applying there start with 2200 SAT scores on average but the NB SAS has a lower standard. With the information you provided here, you should be ok in getting accepted to NB SAS.
