Hi everyone! I am currently a senior, attending a high school in Washington, and my dream college is San Diego State University! I want to be a pediatrician in the future so my intended major is biology. I don’t want to get my hopes up so I would absolutely love to hear everyone’s input on if they think I could possibly get in. No hard feelings, I urge you to be completely honest.
My CSU GPA is a 4.15 (they only want you to calculate your weighted GPA for sophomore and junior year)
My SAT score is very average= 1090.
My eligibility index= 4410.
I won’t include my extracurriculars as SDSU admits you solely based on grades and test scores.
Lastly, I have taken many AP classes. Throughout four years of high school, I have taken AP human geography, AP world history, AP psychology, AP literature and composition, AP statistics, AP calculus, AP language and composition, and AP government and politics. So in total, I have earned 16 grades for AP classes. In addition to those, I have also taken 3 other honor courses.
You look like you have solid chance at SDSU. Good Luck.
If you plan on going to med school, you need to keep your costs down.
SDSU will cost an OOS student about $40K per year.
@Gumbymom Thank you so so much! I was hoping you would respond since I see you on a ton of the SDSU threads
@“aunt bea” I am extremely worried about those costs hopefully I can help lower the costs with scholarships and financial aid.
SDSU does not give FA to OOS students. If eligible, you would only receive federal aid but nothing from SDSU or California aid. There are some scholarships available but none that would cover much of the costs. San Diego us an expensive place to live. Run the Net Price calculator to give you and your parents an estimate of costs.

@Gumbymom Quick question for you. Could my acceptance be revoked if I don’t complete the second semester of Ap Cal that I listed as a planned course? I already have all required credits and this course is not looking good for my GPA.
You need to notify the school f you drop the course since you self reported that you are taking it Senior year. If you tell them now you are dropping, you should be fine. If you wait until final transcripts are due, then it could be an issue. Check admissions before dropping just to make sure.
