So my freshman and sophomore year were not good at all! Grades were probably b's and c's.
However, This year, junior year, I was number 1 in Class ranking, and also the summer before junior year, I put in around 300 hrs of community service. I am in the IB program at my school, and all my teachers have told me that my essay writing skills are above and beyond! I am going to Ecuador for overseas volunteer work, this summer. My high school tennis team is really good, and i have been playing tennis since i was five! I am a state Champion but have not gone to nationals yet, so hypothetically speaking, if i do happen to win nationals in tennis and get perfect scores on my sat AND act, what are my chances of getting into Stanford? Assuming that i keep up with the good grades senior year.

im sorry but unless u have some truly extraordinary accomplishments u will not get in. Stanford in some cases is harder to get into than harvard. Their business school is rankied #1 while harvards is #2. All in all a lot of people end up choosing stanford over harvord whicih makes it even more competitive to get into…HOwever how are you SAT , ACT SCORES AND WHAT IS YOUR OVERALL WEIGHTED GPA?

If you try to get recruited to stanford for tennis there is a chance, otherwise those F and S grades are kind of a killer when it comes to a school of that caliber.

There are no high school “tennis nationals.” It’s called a USTA ranking. Are you sure that you are a state champion?

Stanford’s tricky - I’ve heard this from someone else so I don’t know how credible it is, but they do a lot of athletic and legacy recruiting so even with perfect scholastic records, many people are turned down. Even for athletes at my school, unless they are exceptional (nationally ranked), whether or not they can get in is still uncertain unless they’ve got another hook. So keep doing your best in school and sports but know that with all top schools, it’s really difficult to predict chances.

Unless you get recruited for tennis I’d say its a major reach school

The caliber of tennis player that Stanford recruits is already nationally ranked at 15 or 16. This is the sort of player who is seriously considering eschewing college altogether to pursue tennis professionally. This poster is clearly not of that caliber athletically. Since her academics are severe outliers for Stanford students, she should look at a more realistic list of schools.
