How are you a 5 time gold medalist in the IMO?
That is impossible…
Gold medalist in the sense rank 1 in my school. Olympiads issue medals based on school rank
Don’t say your a gold medalist. Unless you’ve won IMO of course.
Ok I will change that. Regardless, what do you think my chances are?
I believe you have decent chances, depending on how you did on the admissions test, but also the fact that you are an international student might reduce your chances, but don’t quote me on that…
@Aman Saxena
IDK but what I do know is that I have several friends who applied last year with 5x USAJMO/USAMO experience, one even making it to MOP and they all got rejected. You will probably have to do really well on the problem set or have stellar essays. Hope this helps
I get you, but I belive that universities and summer programs do take into account opportunities available to potential candidates. The olympiad structure in India is beyond terrible, and there are very few opportunities to go in that direction. I never even got the chance to give the USAJMO/USAMO
@Aman Saxena Ok, maybe they do. I just have no idea about India. Sorry for the negative connotation my previous comment gave. I hope you get in though
