I'm ranked in the top 20% of my class with a 3.89 gpa. I'm also in all AP courses and tons of extra curriculars. The only concern I have is that my SAT score was a 1580. Being that low, does that completely cut off my chances for getting in? I am, however, retaking it and the ACT as well. How bad of a chance do I have of getting admitted with this score?

I was also wanting to get into Honors at Texas A&M, so would I still have a chance?

that score may not work for honors college though.

if you are an out of state student, your chances are still ok, but honors
college becomes even more unlikely with that score.

btw, a GPA of 3.89 and in top 20% (is your school extremely large? seems like
your rank would be higher than top 20%, unless your school is not based on a 4.0GPA
and has inflated scales for AP and honors courses).

Honors at a&m for freshman admittance is only considered if you were in top 10% of your class. You can get into honors after that, but high school stuff is irrelevant at that point.
