Hi, I'am very interested in the Air Force Academy.
I'am a sophmore and my GPA is a 3.9
I'am on the National Honor Society
I also have played football every year in High School.
My sophmore year I have gotten a 4.0 every quarter.
Next year when I'am a junior all my classes are going to be either A.P or honors,
and I am planning on going to the summer seminar the summer of my junior year.
I was wondering what my chances are of getting into the Air Force Academy?
Or what more do I need to do so I can get in.

how tall are you?

depends on how competitive other applicants to your congressperson are, they results of your physical tests, and whether they judge you fit physically, mentally, and socially to be a warrior.

but your stats are quite compelling. And as a football player (what position, btw), I’m guessing you probably have both the physical qualifications and the mental readiness.

Also, service academies look for leadership. If you’re looking for command or for the brass, you need to be a leader.

I am about 5’8 and weight about 140 lbs. I play running back at my high school. I was also wondering if my dad served in the military for 28 years does that help me at all?

From the limited information you posted, you look pretty good.
The only thing I’d add is a couple possitions of leadership (within NHS or football would work nicely).

Your father’s service likely opens up another route to gain a nomination, which is good.

(Now, none of us here can give you a certain answer, because a lot depends on what your congressperson’s board thinks, what your ALO thinks, and what the academy’s admissions committee decides. However, you are off to a good start.)

Thank you because i have really wanted this or a long time. I still need to take an ACT and I am studying really hard for it. If you have anything else that could help me even more please let me know. :)

What’s your eyesight?

I have 20/20 vision. Never had glasses

Yeah man, I think you have a pretty good chance of getting in. Being in the Boy’s Scout couldn’t hurt. Try to find a good way to show that you are good person or make you look like a good person. Keep your G.P.A up, take some hard courses and rock the SATs, and you’ll be fine in my opinion. Hehe, I say that like it’s easy. Good luck.
