Hey I was wondering is someone could tell me my chances. My SAT scores are horrible, i cant tell you that so this might be stupid of me to ask.
However, my portfolio i think is amazing, im very talented and have a great set of work
My GPA is a 3.9 and my grades are all As and few Bs
I do lots of extra curricular activities and take art classes outside of school
The bad news, my SAT scores are reading- 480 writing-600 math-480.
any thoughts? =/ please tell the truth. I need to know if i should bother applying

Did you just have a bad day for that SAT?
If you did, retake it. If not, apply anyway, but I wouldn’t expect to get in. Those are really low scores (and cornell doesn’t look at writing)

could you try taking the ACT instead? for many people who dont do as well on the SAT, they seem to thrive on the ACT instead

oh man ok i know they are bad. and no i havent taken it . thanks for the advice though

You’re probably better off applying to art schools. I know you’re probably looking for the “ivy league experience,” but your SAT scores are just too weak. Besides, Cornell’s Fine Arts program, although very good, is pretty limited(only 6 concentrations) and isn’t the strongest out there. Full art schools provide more diversity in major choice. Unless it was that double degree system you were after, in which case, still apply. There’s no such thing as applying being a waste of time! Cornell doesn’t have a “cut-off” point for your scores(they care much more about gpa anyway if i remember correctly), and if your portfolio is good enough, you might still have a chance.

Look at Skidmore.
