Hi I’m really worried and stressed out about applying to colleges. I’m applying to Virginia Tech, Purdue, Rice, Georgia Tech, University of Michigan, UT Austin, and Ohio State. I will majoring in civil engineering.
Currently I have a 3.6 unweighted GPA.
ACT: Math-27 English-30 Science-29 Reading -29
AP: Statistics-4 World History-4 This year I am taking AP Literature, Calculus AB, and Biology.
I have over 75 volunteer hours from multiple organizations since my freshman year.
I have received a leadership award from my church youth group, a proclamation from the mayor of my city for my academic achievements, honor roll at my school every year, and I have had perfect attendance since the fifth grade.
Also, I did an internship two years in a row at the University of Akron College of Polymer Engineering. I worked with shape memory polymers and it was basically a full time job over the summer. I worked 40 hours a week (8 hours a day) for 10 weeks and then i had to give a presentation to professors.
Thanks for the feedback!
Michigan, Rice and Georgia Tech are long shots
Michigan, Rice, GT, UT Austin - Reject
Don’t know enough about the others
Where is your home state? You are looking at a bunch of reach and out of reach schools particularly if you are from OOS. Also, did you check if they are affordable to you?
