What are my chances of getting into The University of Florida?

Hello,

I am a high school senior who was applied to UF and some other universities for the fall of 2016. UF is my top choice school and i would love to have the opportunity to attend; however, I have read that UF is pretty selective with their applicants and I was wondering what my chances are of getting in. My SAT score is 1830 and my weighted gpa is a 4.1, unweighted is a 3.8. I have taken mostly honors classes for all four years of high school, but I only have one AP class. As for my extra-curricular activities, I have been heavily involved with sports for all four years. I was a captain on the football team for the last three years and a captain on the basketball team for the last two. In addition to athletics, I was inducted into the National English Honor Society two years ago and have been involved in my school’s branch of the Junior Classical League for two years, making president this year. I have worked for a tree-trimming service since January, 2014 and for a catering company since June, 2014. In the summer of 2015, I took a summer job in a local mall. I have experience volunteering as well. I believe my total number of hours sits at about 200.

I have heard several stories about people with much better scores and gpa then I getting rejected and I’m pretty nervous to hear back from the school. Any information you all can provide would be awesome. Thank you.

You’re SAT score is on the lower sided of the average of their current freshman class, as well as your weighted GPA> One AP class is not extremely impressive, however your leadership positions in athletics/JCL balance that out. UF is a good fit-very low reach. Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1854705-chance-me-for-nyu-tisch-usc-ill-chance-back.html#latest

Your GPA is below their average, but your SATs are in range. It’s a bit of a reach.
