Hi everyone, I went on a tour of UMD this past weekend and fell in love with the school. I was wondering if someone could tell me my chances on getting in?
I intend on majoring in political science
My overall GPA in high school so far (my school goes by quarters and I am currently in the beginning of the fourth quarter of junior year) is somewhere around a 90-91, which according to the UMD site is around a 3.7, and I am in many AP courses.
Honors/AP Classes:
9th Grade- World History Honors, English Honors, Science Research Honors
10th Grade- Pre-AP Spanish Honors, AP World History, English Honors
11th Grade- AP US History, AP English Language, AP Spanish Language, Chemistry Honors for half semester
12th Grade I will be enrolled in AP Government/Economics, AP Environmental Science, plus a few college level courses
So far I have only done the SAT, but will be taking the ACT in June.
My SAT Score came to an 1800
Math- 570
Reading- 600
Writing- 630
Yes I know my 1600 score is low but is this score ok for the school?
Although I have not taken an ACT yet I have done multiple full length practice ones, receiving scores from a 28-30.
My extra curricular is the following:
-religious instructor at my local church
-part of SADD and will be an officer in the club next year
-Secretary of the Anti-Bullying Club in my school
-member of Natural Helpers
-Site Based Junior Class officer in student government
-I am a volunteer on Bernie Sanders’ Campaign, I call houses and knock on doors
-Brown belt level II in karate
Next year I will most likely also be inducted into the National Honor Society
Thank you everyone!!!
