What are my chances of getting into the University of Texas?

<p>I am an in-state student in my senior year of high school. What are my chances of getting in if I apply for a Computer Science major at the school of Natural Sciences at the University of Texas?</p>

<p>1) Top 13% of my class </p>

<p>2) 1920 on my SAT</p>

<p>3) Extra:
-8 years of concert band (multiple district awards)
-3 years of marching band (2 years of leadership)
-Liberals club (2 years)
-NHS
-1 year in City Orchestra
-Job at Six Flags Fiesta Texas for 3 months (Put up for promotion if that means anything)</p>

<p>4) 16 hours of volunteering</p>

<p>5) AP Classes and AP Test scores:
-AP US History (4)
-AP English III (3)
-AP Psychology (TBD)
-AP Gov't (TBD)
-AP Calculus (TBD)
-Dual Credit English IV
-Dual Credit Biology</p>

<p>6) 4.24 weighted GPA</p>

<p>I wrote strong essays but have no recommendations (heard that they don't really look at them unless they're written by more prominent names). Honestly, I like my chances of getting in, but 3rd party opinions would really set my mind at ease. Thank you!</p>

<p>Well your SAT isnt really in their average, but you do have good ECs and if you wrote a good essay then id say you’re a match/high match. </p>

<p>I would say you are a low/mid match. Your SAT score isn’t in their range, but like the person above me said, you have strong EC’s. If you think your essays are strong, then you have a chance of getting in.</p>

<p>UT Austin is a reach for anyone who is not an auto-admit (in the top 8% of graduating high school class). How do you feel about going to UTSA (or one of the other campuses) for a year and working really hard?</p>

<p>^ I thought the auto-admit is for top 7% class rank of in state high school.</p>

<p>^think you’re right! It was the top 10% when the program started, and it’s shrunk since then :(</p>

<p>It’s a reach.
CS at UT is very very competitive. Some of my friends are there and they have to work hard to stay ahead. </p>
